What is PearPC Control Panel?
PearPC Control Panel is a configuration file manager and creator for PearPC. It enables you to easily generate, manage, and run different configuration files with various builds of PearPC. The ability to generate virtual hard disk files is also included.

More information on the PearPC open source project is available at:

After numerous months, I finally got to work on PearPC Control Panel. So, without further ado, here is the changelog for the first "stable" release of the program:

  • Deemed stable release. Please remember to report any bugs that you may find!

  • Translated into Polish (thanks Kamil!).

  • Squashed a few additional bugs.

  • Changed the installer to something a little more professional.

  • Added support for the "change CD" field.

  • Updated source code is published.

  • Added a new feature to just download a new version of PearPC easily.

  • Correct installation of the FileDisk system (source, etc. available from http://www.acc.umu.se/~bosse).

The best new feature, in my opinion, is the last one. Now, with the click of a mouse button, you'll be able to download the latest version of PearPC directly from our servers to the PPCCP home directory. This means that you can have multiple configuration files using one PearPC EXE that you can update instantly with the click of a mouse button!

Released June 20, 2005

The newest release of PearPC Control Panel has finally arrived. The focus for this release is true compatibility with PearPC versions 0.3 and above. Changes include:

  • PearPC Control Panel is now compatible with PearPC 0.3+.

  • Removed all the old resolution, SDL resolution, etc... stuff as that is extremely old now.

  • Added the ability to easily change the CPU_PVR codes and the key combinations.

  • Fixed a minor bug in the toolbar that didn't launch the hard disk window when one clicked on the hard drive icon.

  • Added a couple of new questions to the help file.

  • Added a menu item that directly links to this web site. This makes seeing if there are any updates significantly easier.

The new release of PearPC Control Panel can be downloaded using the links below. I have also put a new "advertisement" location to the side. If anyone is interested in advertising on this site, I suggest that you click here for more information.

This release is ONLY compatible with PearPC versions 0.3 and above. If you are still using 0.3pre, 0.2, or even 0.1, do not upgrade.

Released September 4, 2004

A new release of PearPC Control Panel is finally here. This version focuses on fixing minor bugs and improving the "smalldisk" concept. Changes include:

  • Added the ability to redirect console outputs. This is experimental and I think that it slows PearPC down slightly. I'm looking into a better implementation of this. In the mean time, this is very useful if PearPC is quitting unexpectedly as you can see the error message.

  • Added ability to mount and unmount disk images using the FileDisk open-source project (web site is http://www.acc.umu.se/~bosse).

  • Location of the main window is now saved.

  • Better smalldisk documentation and slightly better overall documentation.

  • A "changelog.txt" is now included with the program.

  • Various other minor bug fixes.

The setup file is now around one megabyte larger due to the switchover from the VB6 installation system to the standard Windows Installer one.

UPDATE: After receiving numerous inquiries about various missing dependencies, I have switched back to the VB6 installer. This should fix any installation issues. Therefore, if you are having problems, re-download this and try again. I will probably be updating the program within the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
